School Youth Programs

Field Trip Destination

White Mountain Dinosaur Exploration Center (WMDEC) hosts classrooms from local schools and home school programs at the Center for an immersive experience exploring dinosaurs discovered by local scientists. Students will explore deep time and how the world has changed. We will explore the tools scientist use to understand the fossil evidence and how this knowledge helps us to prepare for the future.

Students will have opportunities to explore rock and fossil specimens and will do laboratory experiments on rock types and fossil preparation.

Full day programs, weather permitting, will include picnic at Becker Lake and field trips to local rock outcrops for study and specimen collection.

In School Programs

White Mountain Dinosaur Exploration Center will come to your school for a full school assembly featuring a multimedia powerpoint presentation by paleontologist Douglas Wolfe. WMDEC will set up a hands on exhibit for individual classrooms to visit throughout day for hands on exploration of rock and fossil specimens.
